Robert W. Dormer, age 66 of Flowery Branch, Georgia passed away suddenly on October 6, 2015.
He was born February 12, 1949 in Long Island, New York and grew up in Warwick, RI. He attended URI and served in the United States Army National Guard from ’71-’77. He moved to Pickerington, Ohio in the late ‘70s where he resided with his family for nearly 30 years before moving to Flowery Branch, GA. in 2005. He was a civil engineer for Abbott Labs for 20 years in Columbus, OH and recently retired from Merial Select in Gainesville, GA. He was an avid sports fan, rooting for The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Boston Red Sox, and the NY Giants.
Survived by his mother, Eleanor Johnson (Warwick, RI); wife Gail Dormer; sons Greg (Shannon) Dormer (Pickerington, OH), Nick Dormer (Garner, NC), grandson, Jacoby Dormer, brother Ken (Fran) Dormer (Warwick, RI); and two nephews, many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Dormer and stepfather, Robert Johnson.
