Rocky Hill, Toll Gate field hockey teams paired in Play4theCure Friday

Posted

Rocky Hill School girls’ varsity field hockey team has joined with the National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR) to participate in its fundraising campaign entitled Play4theCure (P4TC), in which sports teams across the country donate proceeds from at least one game to NFCR.

The Mariners will be raising funds during their game versus Toll Gate High School this Friday beginning at 4 p.m. on the field hockey field at Rocky Hill School.

This is the fifth season that Rocky Hill has hosted a P4TC game. The team has raised more than $1,000 total and hopes to break their fundraising record this year.

Rocky Hill players will sell pink ribbons and bracelets that entitle students and faculty to a dress down day Friday. They will also hold a bake sale during the school day. Players on Rocky Hill will wear pink jerseys and socks and Toll Gate will be wearing ribbons and headbands in support of the cause.

The team will also be collecting general donations and selling painted pumpkins and hot chocolate at the game.
