The Don Rodrigues Karate Academy of Warwick captured 20 trophies and nine national titles at the 2014 Krane National Championships this past weekend at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick.
The Academy was led by world champion Dante Rodrigues, who won the gold medal in Open Forms and the overall (14-17) Black Belt Forms Grand Championship - his 10th Grand Championship this year).
Also capturing a gold medal and overall Grand Champion in Women's Weapons was Ashley Lima. Lima also captured two silver medals. Other competitors from the Academy were: Louise Therrien with three gold medals, Alex Major II with one gold and two bronze medals, Niko Rodrigues with one gold, Dawn Kempf with one gold, Kate Warrington with one gold, Caleb Martin with a silver and a fifth place, Caitlin Longest with a silver and two fifths, Rachael Klekot with a bronze and two fourths, Sierra Kempf with a fourth and Josh Potter with a fifth.
