Roger Williams Park Zoo wants adults 21 and older to “tap in to their wild side” at the Brew at the Zoo beer-tasting event on Saturday, August 29 from 5-9 p.m. Guests at this popular annual fundraiser will sample over 100 craft beers from dozens of local, regional and national brewers. Important note for the public: RWP Zoo will end admission at 12 noon to prepare for Brew at the Zoo. Guests who arrive before noon will have until 2 p.m. to enjoy the zoo.

Guests will enjoy sampling craft beers from popular breweries like Trinity Brewhouse, Bucket Brewery, Revival, Long Trail, and many more. In addition to beer tastings, party-goers will enjoy encounters with the Zoo’s education animals, live music, and everyone will leave with a “Brew at the Zoo” commemorative pint glass. Due to the presence of alcoholic beverages, Brew at the Zoo is a 21+ event.

Entertainment for the evening includes Celebrating Ireland, an Irish band providing upbeat Celtic music and the five-member Opa’s Oompah Band in festive Bavarian attire playing authentic German tunes.

This year, the Zoo is offering special pricing for purchasing tickets in advance. For beer-tasting, Early Bird tickets are only $40 per person until August 15, and Advanced Tickets are $50 from Aug. 16-28; tickets purchased the day of the event both online and at the door will be $60, and will only be available if the event is not sold out prior. Designated Drivers are also welcome, with a lower ticket price of $25 per person. Designated Driver ticket holders may not consume alcohol during the event.

For more information or to purchase tickets online, visit www.rwpzoobrew.org or email zoobrew@rwpzoo.org.

Tickets are sold online and will be available on the day of the event only if they do not sell out in advance. Due to the presence of alcoholic beverages, Brew at the Zoo is a 21+ event, and no person under the age of 21 will be admitted (this includes children and infants). Please note that RWP Zoo will end admission at 12 noon to prepare for Brew at the Zoo. Guests who arrive before noon will have until 2pm to enjoy the animal exhibits.

Roger Williams Park Zoo, one of the oldest in the nation, is Rhode Island’s number one outdoor family and tourist attraction and is also a leader in conservation efforts undertaken by a zoo of its size. The zoo has received numerous awards for environmental education, and conservation work done locally and around the world, caring for species that without human intervention would face certain extinction. Roger Williams Park Zoo is supported and managed by the Rhode Island Zoological Society and owned by the City of Providence.
