Rose E. (Rivet) Morris, 86, passed away September 3, 2013, at home. She was the wife of the late James H. Morris Jr.
She was a daughter of the late Henry and Elma (Rondeau) Rivet. Mrs. Morris was formally employed for A & P and Brooks Pharmacy. Mrs. Morris was the member of the Pilgrim and Buttonwoods Senior Centers, the West Shore Imperials and was an avid bingo and card player. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play football.
She is survived by one son, James H. Morris III, E6 USN (Ret.) and his wife, Marguerite, and one daughter, Dennise R. Cady; one brother Roland Rivet; three sisters Theresa Rivet, Lucille Ducharme, Delia Soucy and Muriel Trinque; six grandchildren, Ryan Bolton, Nicholas Simpson, Blake Simpson, Sgt. Joshua I. Morris, USA, Emily Simpson and Dylan Morris; one great-granddaughter, Amiyah Bolton; former daughter-in-law, Alisia Morris. She was the sister of the late Robert Rivet, Anita Jarvais and Eva Soucy.
Her funeral will be held Monday, September 9, 2013, at 9 a.m., from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Sunday, 4-8 p.m.
