Ruth M. (Lanphear) Place, 89,m of Vera Street, died February 15 at Kent Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles C. Place and Voyle L. Phillips.

She was a daughter of the late Daniel T. Lanphear and Yvonne (Desrochers) Lanphear-Migneault; Ruth was a solderer for many years for the former Anson Jewelry where she retired and a volunteer for the Pilgrim and Buttonwoods Senior Centers for many years.

She was the beloved mother of Janet N. Levasseur and her husband, Normand, of Warwick; loving grandmother of Anthony Pennacchia (Susan) of Warwick, Michael Pennacchia (Susan) of Greenville, N.C., Deborah Pennacchia of Cranston, Dr. David Penn (Robin) of Orlando, Fla., Michael Levasseur (Leslee) of Attleboro, Mass. and Kerri Simonds of Pawtucket; sister of Helen Mulvey and Beatrice Lanphear; and aunt of Veronica Reed, Maureen McNaulty and Carol Anne Boucher. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.

Her funeral was held Feb. 20 from Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., followed by a funeral service in Lakewood Baptist Church, Atlantic Ave., Warwick. Burial was in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.
