Toll Gate English teacher and department chair at Toll Gate and Winman Junior High, Darlene Netcoh won about 90 percent of the vote in the Warwick Teachers Union election held last Thursday afternoon and evening. Netcoh will assume her job as president on June 23, succeeding George Landrie who didn’t run for reelection and is anxious to return to the classroom as a music teacher. Netcoh, who regularly attends School Committee meetings and has served as the union spokeswoman during informational picketing over the lack of a contract, was paired with Michael Costello on the ballot. Costello won the post of vice president of secondary teachers. They faced Nick DiFilippo, who ran for president and Pete Sangiovanni for vice president.
