Twenty-six patients and their families joined the Breast Health Center staff at Kent Hospital for a lunch and live holiday music from a pianist volunteer. Each patient received a gift card to Stop & Shop or Walmart to assist with their holiday needs. “It’s such an honor to join with patients and families to help spread a little holiday cheer at this time of the year,” said Candace Dyer, MD, physician director of The Breast Health Center at Kent. “The holiday luncheon embodies a true spirit of community and collaboration while offering best wishes for health and happiness in the New Year from everyone at the Breast Health Center at Kent.” The Women-In-Need (WIN) program at Kent Hospital was established in 2014 to help women who have been diagnosed with cancer. Many times, women face financial difficulties while undergoing treatment and cannot meet their responsibilities. At times, financial assistance may be needed to help with daily living costs such as food, medication, medical equipment, rent, utilities and more. The WIN program is completely funded through donations. One hundred percent of proceeds go back to women in need. For more information about the program or how you can donate to this worthy cause, contact Kim McDonough, RN, BSN, nurse manager, at 736-3737.
