The Conimicut Village Association and Woodbury Union Presbyterian Church joined Friday to welcome the Christmas season with the lighting of the tree in George Donovan Park in the village center followed by carols, refreshments and a visit from St. Nick in the church basement. More than 150 attended, many bringing canned goods for the church food drive. Association president Ginny Barham thanked the church for hosting the post-lighting event and city Department of Public Works crews who strung the white lights on the live fir tree in the park.
