Special Olympics Rhode Island will be hosting the Sixth Annual Torch Run Plunge at Goddard Memorial State Park on March 10.
Registration for the event begins at 10 a.m., which games on the beach beginning at 11:15 a.m.
Plunging requires a $50 minimum donation, and those interested can also create their own Firstgiving fundraising page at www.firstgiving.com/soriTR. There are incentives and prizes that are based on the amount of money raised.
There will be heated men’s and lady’s changing tents, and the plunge itself will take place at 12 p.m. There will also be a “Post Plunge Party” at the Carousel at Goddard Park following the plunge, and all non-plungers can join the party for a $15 donation.
Food will be provided by Eddie’s BBQ and there will be music courtesy of 3D DJ Service.
Judging will be taking place for the best individual and team costumes, and other prizes and awards will be handed out for the top fundraising school, largest school group and best school spirit.
