Safe kids

Balloon artist Ron Sargent kept kids, their parents and their grandparents enthralled with his skills, including the creation of this bunny for Erin Kelly.

Having his fingerprints recorded is Quincy Poydas of Cranston. Also shown is Pauline Schaffner, a nurse who in her part-time travels with the program, took Quincy’s prints and photograph. She is from Waterloo, Iowa and planned to spend Sunday sightseeing in Rhode Island before returning to her full-time job. Warwick Police and Fire, along with the Boy and Girl Scouts, also participated in the program.

While free digital fingerprinting is the core to the national keeping Kids Safe Project, there were a lot of fun things to do Saturday when Balise hosted the program at their Nissan dealership. During the event, FBI-quality fingerprints and photographs were taken of the kids and given to their parents for safe-keeping. These records can be critical in the recovery of a missing child. The program keeps no database.
