While sailors will remember the East Greenwich Yacht Club annual regatta for its competitive racing, it’s novice sailors and newcomers to the sport who will benefit from the event. The regatta raised more than $3,000 that was recently presented to the Community Boating Center in Providence. The non-profit center runs a public access sailing program in upper Narragansett Bay.
