According to a press release from Det. Captain Christopher Stewart of the Warwick Police last week, Warwick detectives have identified Patrick Silva, 34, of New Bedford as the man responsible for the Aug. 1 robbery of the Santander Bank on Post Road in Warwick. Silva was arrested on Sept. 4 in Massachusetts on an unrelated charge and is currently in custody there. Police believe that Silva is the man who enter the bank and demanded money from a teller. No weapon or note was used in the robbery.
The local charges against Silva are pending as the investigation continues between the Warwick Police, the Rhode Island Attorney General’s office and the Massachusetts District Attorney.
