Toll Gate High School senior Patrick Rocchio is the winner of this year’s Wave Federal Credit Union Donald R. Staley Memorial Scholarship award. The business scholarship award, in the amount of $1,000, was presented at Toll Gate High School’s Honors Night May 1 by the credit union’s president and CEO, Paul Archambault. Wave Federal Credit Union established the business scholarship program in 2011 to recognize the scholastic achievements of graduating students pursuing a business or mathematics degree at any accredited college or university and in memory of Donald R. Staley, an assistant principal at Toll Gate High School for 12 years, a math educator and principal at Warwick Veterans Memorial High School for 23 years, and assistant superintendent of the Warwick Public School District for five years. He also served as board chairman of the Warwick Municipal Employees/Anchor Federal Credit Union and a director of Wave Federal Credit Union, which encompassed over 20 years of service. Pictured here from left are: Ken Castellone, Toll Gate business teacher; Patrick Rocchio; and Paul Archambault, president and CEO of Wave Federal Credit Union.
