It’s almost time to go back to school.

All schools will open on Wednesday, Aug. 27, although not all students are to report to school. Some junior and senior high school students will get an extra day of summer vacation.

For secondary schools: Aldrich, Gorton, and Winman Junior High Schools will open school on Aug. 27 for grade 7 only and Aug. 28 for grades 7 and 8. Pilgrim, Toll Gate, and Veterans High Schools will open on Aug. 27 for grade 9 only and Aug. 28 for all grades.

Registration for new students will be conducted at the administration building from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. For an appointment, call 734-3086. Any child planning on attending grade 1 in Sept. 2014 must have attended a state recognized or accredited kindergarten program.

Students who have been tutored over the summer or have attended summer school in other school districts are to report to the appropriate subject area department chair or principal on Aug. 21 or Aug. 22 in the afternoon or call their school to schedule an appointment.

Lunch will be served in all schools on Aug. 27.

A Professional Development Day will be held Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for all teachers.

All teachers will report for teacher orientation on Aug. 26 at their regularly scheduled starting time.
