You needn’t declare a party affiliation to vote in Tuesday’s School Committee primary.
As members of the committee are non-partisan, it makes no difference if you are a registered Democrat or Republican or an unaffiliated voter in order to vote for two of the six candidates on the ballot.
The four candidates with the most votes will have their names appear on the Nov. 13 General Election Ballot. The two with the most votes will become the committee’s two at-large members. Members serve four-year terms.
The six candidates as they are listed on the ballot are: Nathaniel Cornell, David Testa, Chadd Huddon, Daniel Hall, Dean Johnson and Karen Bachus.
Democrats voting in any of the City Council or local state primaries will receive ballots listing contests in their area as well as the list of non-partisan school committee candidates. There are no local Republican primaries.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
