Harold F. Scott Elementary School got to enjoy a sunny Wednesday as they participated in a walk-a-thon.

There were six stations around the school’s walking path where students participated in fun activities.

The stations included, a Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” the statue game, where students had to freeze into a position before being seen, Peel the Banana Dance, Hava Nagila Jewish celebration dance and a military march.

The walk-a-thon fundraiser was to benefit the Andreá Rizzo Foundation, which uses dance therapy to help children with special needs or debilitating illnesses and the Justine Sherburne Technology Fund, which helps Scott School acquire new technology for their classrooms. The school raised $2,682 that will be split between the two charities.

Melissa Sabatini, organizer of the event said the students really enjoyed the different activities and getting the chance to play outside during the school day

“This is a great way to engage children’s mind, body and voice all at the same time,” she said.
