Do you or a family member have diabetes? Do you routinely have your feet screened for complications related to diabetes? If you answered yes to either of these questions or have more questions related to diabetes and/or its diagnosis and management, then join the Care New England health system to kickoff Diabetes Awareness Month and host Diabetes Awareness Day.

The event will take place this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kent Hospital Wound Recovery and Hyperbaric Medicine Center, located at 455 Toll Gate Road (follow the signs for the main entrance, take a right after the emergency department, then take a left into first parking lot on left).

Highlights of the day include cholesterol, blood pressure, Hemoglobin A1C and diabetic foot screenings. Flu shots will be available, so be sure to bring your insurance card. Care New England physicians and other clinical experts from Butler, Kent, Memorial and Women & Infants’ hospitals, CNE Wellness Center and the VNA of Care New England, will provide educational seminars on podiatry, complications including neuropathy and ulcers, nutrition and exercise. Vendors will be available to answer questions and provide information for you and your family. There will be plenty of free food and giveaways.

For more information log on to www.carenewengland.org. RSVP to 274-1122 ext. 42275.
