Seniors swing and learn at mall expo

Posted

The Prime Time Magazine Senior Living Expo, an event for older adults, caregivers, and professionals who provide care to seniors, took place at the Warwick Mall yesterday. Sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island and Kent Hospital, the event drew thousands of area seniors, as well as those young at heart. More than 40 vendors, catering specifically to the needs and lifestyles of those over 50, participated.

Attendees found informative displays with topics ranging from preventative health measures, nutrition, and health insurance changes to housing and rehabilitation. Pharmacists were on hand for complete prescription and medication reviews. For those looking for a little adventure, there were fitness and travel vendors available for those with more active lifestyles.

A festive and fun atmosphere was created with free entertainment by DJ Joe Martini, the toe-tapping sounds of Nostalgia, and Boomer Power. The mall erupted with applause for the Swinging Ladies, a line dancing class from St. Martin De Porres Senior Center line dancing class.

For additional information on the expo, questions may be directed to American Health Resources, Inc. at 508-588-7700.
