The Pilgrim Senior Enrichment Center, located at 27 Pilgrim Parkway, Warwick, offers educational, nutritional and recreational programs to folks 55 years of age and older. The center is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The center will be closed on Tuesday, Sept. 13 for the primary election. The following events are planned for September:

Election Demonstration

The Secretary of State’s Elections Division will be at the Pilgrim Senior Center, 27 Pilgrim Parkway Warwick on Friday, Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. for a demonstration of the State’s new voting machine and ballot layout that will be used in both the September primary and November general election. The elections team will be on hand to register new voters, update voter registration information and provide Voter ID’s for those registered voters who need one.

Veterans Benefits Presentation

Dick Cohen from the Rhode Island Vet Corps will be at the Pilgrim Senior Center, 27 Pilgrim Parkway Warwick on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. to discuss state-of-the-art health care, prescription drug coverage, dental, burial benefits for you and your spouse and more. Register with Kim at 468-4500.

AARP 4 Hour Smart Driving Course

Pilgrim Senior Center will be hosting an AARP Smart Driving course on Monday, Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a lunch break from noon to 1 p.m. Course objectives are to help drivers over the age of 55 identify common crash situations, understand effects of aging on driving and identify when driving may no longer be safe. You may also get a discount on your auto insurance for completing the course. Check with your insurer for the type of discount they may offer. Contact Lisa at 468-4080 for a reservation. Flu Vaccination Clinics

A Flu vaccination clinic will be held at the Pilgrim Senior Center on Monday, Sept 26 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. Bring your insurance card with you. Call Pat Seltzer RN at 468-4077 for additional information.
