At the Rhode Island Community Food Bank’s annual meeting on Oct. 21, Mark A. Ross of Warwick was elected to the Board of Directors for the Food Bank. Ross is a retired vice president of Ross-Simons Jewelers. Ross is an active member of many organizations within the community. In addition to his new position with the Food Bank, he is also a board member for the Trudeau Center, Dorcas International Institute and Hillel URI, and he serves on the board of trustees for St. Andrews School. He holds a B.A. from the University of Rhode Island and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan. “I believe strongly in the Food Bank’s mission of eliminating food insecurity, especially among children,” Ross said in a statement. The Rhode Island Community Food Bank provides food to more than 68,000 Rhode Islanders in need every month through its statewide network of food pantries and meal sites. One in three served by the Food Bank is a child under the age of 18.
