Seven athletes from Warwick schools are among the nominees for the annual Cox Sports Awards, which will be handed out Wednesday at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet.
Pilgrim’s Haley McCusker has been nominated for girls’ lacrosse and Toll Gate’s Erika Pena for indoor track. Five have been nominated from Hendricken: Jason Davol for wrestling, Connor Doyle for cross country, Brandon Macedo for golf, Ed Markowski for hockey and Colin Tierney for cross country.
Entering its seventh year, awards are given to the top male and female athlete in each of their respective high school sports. The show will air on OSN (Cox channels 5 and 1005) at 7 p.m. on June 16, and 8 p.m. on June 17 and June 24.
