On Friday night, March 7, hundreds of synagogues across the continent will take part in a historic national Jewish event to celebrate what unifies all Jews – Shabbat. Everyone is invited – singles, couples and families of all ages.
Join the Temple Am David congregation at 6 p.m. (please note special time) for this special evening. No matter what your affiliation, National Jewish Outreach program’s (NJOP) annual Shabbat program will give you a “taste” of Shabbat. Share a family friendly dinner of soup, salad and pizza. Services will immediately follow with a wonderful combination of traditional and creative customs, including Rabbi Perlman accompanying himself while leading the service with his guitar. They will end the night with ice cream sundaes for a sweet Shabbat. Price is $12 for adults, $6 for kids under 13.
By participating in this continent-wide event, you will not only have the opportunity to experience Shabbat, but you will be sharing your experience with tens of thousands of Jews across North America.
RSVP by Feb. 28 to Ellen Shaw at eggoes@cox.net or at 821-2908. Mail your check made payable to Temple Am David to 40 Gardiner St., Warwick, RI 02888.
