Shirley (Rasmussen) Miller, age 89, of Ralston Street, Warwick, died on June 16, 2013 at home, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Miller, Sr.

Born in Rome, New York, a daughter of the late Albert and Hazel (Agan) Rasmussen, she was a resident of Warwick for most of her life. Mrs. Miller was a dispatcher with the East Greenwich Police Department for 10 years before retiring in 1986.

She is survived by her children, Charles E. Miller, Jr. and Wendy A. Bentley, of Warwick, Wayne F. Miller of Orange Park, Florida, and William A. Miller of East Hampton, Connecticut; a brother, Eugene Rasmussen of Maryland, a sister, Blanche Smith of Marathon, NY; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late John, Walter, Lincoln and Erwin Rasmussen and Jeanette Bourgeois.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 10 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Requiem Eucharist at 11a.m. in St. Mark Episcopal Church, 111 West Shore Road, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited, and may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 – 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter.
