The Pilgrim Film Society, creators of the “Courageous Ones,” a film featuring the faculty of Pilgrim High School, presented a $2,500 check to the Rhode Island Chapter of the MS Society Tuesday at the school. The money, raised over two years by sales of the film DVD, is one of the more unique fundraisers the chapter has witnessed, said MS manager of program Meredith Sheehan. Film director Brian Callahan, who teaches English, said he was inspired to make the MS Society the beneficiary because of his wife, Lisa, who was diagnosed with the disease at age 11. Callahan has run other fundraising events for MS and presently has departments within the school competing to win a night at Bo’s Billiards in Warwick. Film society members from left are Andrea Place, Brian Callahan, Richard Dennigham and Chris Pratt. Holding the check are Sheehan and Kathy Mechnig from the MS Society.
