Singer-songwriter Thea Hopkins in library concert Oct. 27

Posted

A concert of contemporary folk with singer-songwriter Thea Hopkins will be held at Warwick Library on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m.

An expressive and inspiring performer, Thea has been described as having one of those voices you can get lost in. Writing rich melodies and inventive lyrics, she calls her music “Red Roots Americana” in honor of her Wampanoag ancestry and the musical genre she loves best.

Thea has opened for Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Richie Havens and Ellis Paul, and performed at Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe, The Bitter End in Greenwich Village, and Club Passim in Boston. Her song “Jesus Is on the Wire” about Matthew Shepard was recorded by Peter, Paul & Mary, and she has three albums, “Birds of Mystery,” “Chickasaw,” and “Lilac Sky.”

Register online at warwicklibrary.org or call 739-5440, x4. For more information, call 739-5440, x221. The Library is located at 600 Sandy Lane.

This event is free and open to all.
