Mayor Scott Avedisian visited the St. Mark’s Church pumpkin patch yesterday to lend attention to the church annual pumpkin patch sales drive. Millie Provencher reported sales have been brisk since a company that specializes in pumpkin fundraisers delivered 800 large pumpkins and hundreds of smaller ones. The pumpkins came from New Mexico. The Rev. Mother Susan Wrathall, pastor, said the patch has helped bring attention to the church at the Hoxsie Four Corners end of West Shore Road while also raising funds. Of the proceeds, 15 percent is donated to Crossroads RI. The patch is run by parishioner Jeanne Soares, who was not present for the picture. With the mayor are Provencher and Rev. Wrathall. The patch is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays; weekend hours vary.
