So much to learn

It being Rocky Hill School’s 30th annual Grandfriends Day, Tuesday offered the occasion for lower school students to show off what they do while giving grandparents the opportunity to compare school of their time with that of today. Third grader Taylor Cole of Warwick got a double generational perspective as her grandmother Jane Mead was accompanied by her great grandmother, Ann Mead, more affectionately known as GG. Jane recalled attending Randall Holden School in Warwick and Ann talked about St. Michael’s School and how she would walk home for lunch. Ann, who still works part time at Benny’s on West Shore Road, is the mother of six and has 14 grand children and the great grandchildren. She doesn’t have a computer or a cell phone. “It’s a whole different world,” she concludes. Here the three generations compare notes.
