Games of Wendesday, July 6
Picasso’s 16,
Sports 3
A two-run single by Ray Marot and a two-run double by Frank Gifford were the key hits in a six-run first inning for Picasso's in their win over league-leading Sports Legends.
The win moves Picasso's to within one game of first place, but they also have won the season series, which acts as a tie breaker should the teams finish with the same regular season record.
Both teams have seven games remaining.
Players 6,
Formex 3
Back-to-back home runs by Matt Fontaine and Danny Chase in the sixth inning made the difference for Players.
Players trailed 3-2 entering the sixth when with one out, Steve Majorand and Zach DiMezza singled ahead of Fontaine's homer to left-center before Chase connected to straight away center.
Formex, who left 11 runners on base, loaded the bases in the seventh but did not score.
