Spring comes to Zoo with return of popular Easter events

Roger Williams Park Zoo offers two fun experiences to start off your family’s spring fun. The annual Egg Hunt Safari will take place on Sunday, March 29, and the popular “Visits with the Easter Bunny” on Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29, and Friday and Saturday, April 3 and 4.

Celebrate the season with an egg-citing event at the zoo’s annual Egg Hunt Safari on Sunday, March 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants will each receive a scavenger hunt card with clues to help them find six egg stations throughout the Zoo.

When the hunting is finished, they will exchange their six eggs at a redemption station for a prize. Parents are encouraged to bring their own egg collection bags, as the Zoo does not provide bags for this event. Please also note, the last scavenger hunt cards are given out at 2:30 p.m. to allow people enough time to participate before the event ends at 3 p.m. Guests will also enjoy fun spring activities set up throughout the zoo. The Egg Hunt Safari is free with zoo admission.

Visits with the Easter Bunny will take place in the Our House Great Room in the Big Backyard on Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29, and on Friday and Saturday, April 3 and 4. Visits will be available in March from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and in April from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Zoo guests can make an eco-friendly Easter craft and take their own picture with the Easter Bunny. Tickets can be purchased at Zoo admissions or near the entrance to the event.

The price, in addition to Zoo admission, is $10 for children ages 3 to 12, and $5 for toddlers age 2 and under; there is no additional charge for parents. For more information about this event call 941-4998.

Roger Williams Park Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. October through March, and closes at 5 p.m. April through September. Last admission is 30 minutes before closing. Admission is $14.95 for adults, $9.95 for children ages 3 to 12, and $12.95 for seniors (ages 62-plus). Toddlers age 2 and under and Zoo members are admitted for free. For more information about the Zoo, visit www.rwpzoo.org.
