State offers workshops to grow small business

Business owners can go back to school this fall with three free workshops offered by Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis and the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC).

“We're giving small business the tools they need to prosper in today's economy. These consultants will position them to increase profits and attract new customers,” said Mollis.

Juan Gomez and Jeshua Zapata of Xzito Creative Solutions will present "Leveraging Social Media to Grow Your Business,” on Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Northern R.I. Chamber of Commerce, located at 6 Blackstone Valley Pl., Ste. 301 in Lincoln.

David Lucier of Lucier CPA and David Nash of Engage Marketing will present "How to Start and Run a Successful Small Business," on Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at 875 Centerville Road, Building 2, Unit 5 in Warwick.

The workshop will review tax-reduction strategies, 20 pitfalls to starting and running a small business and how to price products and services.

Gil Lantini of Focus Business Solutions will present “Websites 101” on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 9 to 11 a.m. at RIEDC, 315 Iron Horse Way, Ste. 101 in Providence.
