Stephen W. Powers, 66, of West Warwick passed away April 19, 2013 at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Deb A. (Dugdale) Powers.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Robert H. and Barbara A. (Henry) Powers. Stephen was a Nuclear Pharmacy Tech for Cardinal Health. An avid golfer, he was the president of the St. Joseph Health Services Golf League and the 2012 recipient of the Peg Dixon Award. He was a longtime coach of youth hockey and soccer and an avid Red Sox fan.
He was the loving father of Scott S. Powers and his wife, Sarah of Warwick, Bethany P. Marso and her husband, Kevin and Katie E. Powers, all of West Warwick. Caring brother of Robert H. Powers and his wife, Ann of North Kingstown. Devoted grandfather of Calia, Colden, Isabelle, Grace, Carsyn and Jack. Cherished uncle of several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 8:45 a.m. from The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday 4-8 p.m.
