Providence College’s Department of Theatre, Dance and Film presents an annual festival competition of films in all genres made by current PC students. These short films, ranging from 5 to 12 minutes long, will be judged by invited jurors, and prizes will be provided by the Rhode Island International Film Festival.  The event will be held in the Angell Blackfriars Theatre in the Smith Center for the Arts on May 2nd at 6 PM.  The Film Festival is an opportunity for student film artists to showcase their films before peers and the public and to receive feedback and inspiration to continue in their craft.

Jurors for the festival are all members of the Rhode Island film community and include David Bettencourt of Midway Pictures (You Must be This Tall: The Story of Rocky Point Park; The Station); Elizabeth Delude-Dix (Stories from Stone; No Simple Truth; CoProducer/Executive Producer: Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North) and Ben Sweeney of Providence Pictures, a local production company specializing in documentary films for television. (The History Channel, NOVA on PBS.)
