Sunday bike run to raise funds for premature infant

Posted

On March 23, 2014 Addison Pennoyer was born prematurely. Weighing only 1 pound, 10 ounces, little Addison faced many health risks in her first few months of life, but she has been fighting. She rallied gaining weight and is now 3 pounds, 12 ounces. However, a bout of pneumonia only furthered the infant’s health issues as well as her medical bills.

Women & Infants Hospital is doing all they can to help the baby girl survive, and now Julie Brunelle is trying to raise funds to help the family with their ever-growing medical costs.

Brunelle, a friend of Addison’s mother, Cassie Tucker, is holding the Hope for Addison Bike Run this Sunday. The motorcycle bike run will begin at Eddie’s 529 Club Inc. at 529 Warwick Avenue, and then ride to Cady’s Tavern, the Smithfield Elks, the West Warwick Elks, Bottom Line Bar and Grill before returning to Eddie’s for a BBQ dinner and raffle. At each stop, riders will be able to stop for food and drinks.

Registration will start at 8 a.m. in front of Eddie’s and the bike run will begin at 10. It will cost $25 per person.

Brunelle is hoping to raise $1,000 or more for Addison and her family.

“Addison and her family need our help,” Brunelle said. “This fundraiser is just our way of supporting the family in their time of need.”

If you aren’t much of a bike rider, then the group is also looking for volunteers. They are accepting monetary and raffle item donations.
