Superheroes run for buddies at Rocky Point 5k

The Rocky Point 5k was held on Saturday, and a few of the competitors looked a little bit different than everybody else.

Fourteen people dressed up like superheroes for the event as part of a movement with the foundation “IRun4You.” The foundation matches up able-bodied runners with children who have various ailments, and the runners dedicate their running to the child, known as a “buddy.”

For the Rocky Point race, the runners all asked their buddies who their favorite superhero was, and then dressed up as that character and took to the road.
