Suspect sought in Sundaes Ice Cream break-in

Posted

Police are working to identify a man who broke into Sundaes Ice Cream on Oaklawn Avenue in Cranston early Friday morning.

Sometime between 3 a.m. and 3:20 a.m., police say the suspect approached the establishment, forced in a front window and removed the cash register before climbing out of the same window and fleeing to the rear bike path.

An undetermined amount of cash was in the register. Police say the suspect may additionally have tried to steal scrap metal gutters during the incident.

The suspect in the break-in is described as a white male standing between 5 feet and 5 feet, 4 inches tall, and as either balding or having a shaved hear.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or location is asked to contact Cranston police at 401-942-2211, ext. 5041. Detectives Dave Tirrell and John Cardone are investigating.
