Sylvia M. (Casasanta) Brown, age 87, of Harrington Avenue, Warwick, died on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Raymond J. Brown. Mr. and Mrs. Brown were married for 66 years.
Born in the Norwood section of Warwick, a daughter of the late John and Elsie (Barrett) Casasanta, she lived in the same home for her entire life.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Judith A. Bryer of Foster; two sons, David J. Brown of Richmond and Donald P. Brown of Smithfield; a sister, Ida Vendresca of Warwick; a brother, Theodore “Ted” Casasanta of Narragansett; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Louis Casasanta.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, May 12, at 10 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. William Church, 200 Pettaconsett Avenue, Warwick. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
