(Profane, politically

incorrect comedy)

Chris Rock wrote, directed and starred in this profane, politically incorrect movie about a stand-up comic who went on to make terrible movies and then “didn’t feel funny any more.”

What to do? Why not make a serious movie about a bloody Haitian slave rebellion?

When he agrees to an interview with a New York Times reporter (Rosario Dawson), she shadows him around New York City as he is about to get married, and you can see where this one is going.

Both Dre and Chelsea are recovering alcoholics who come close to going over the edge as she discovers a terrible secret about her boyfriend and he discovers an equally terrible secret about her.

The movie is filled with profanity and prurient sex (shown in flashbacks) and reaches for the raunchiest humor to earn its R rating. There are a number of cameos, including Tracy Morgan before his terrible accident, and an unfunny Jerry Seinfeld.

We can see why Dre doesn’t feel funny anymore. He isn’t. And neither is this movie.

Rated a big R, with profanity, nudity, crude sexual humor, drugs and pokes at homosexuals, whites, blacks and just about everyone.
