For the past 30 years, Carol Chevalier has been a regular at the Warwick Building Department, spending most of those years managing zoning that requires examination of building plans to see if they conform with codes, assisting those petitioning for variances and serving as the clerk to the Zoning Board of Review. It’s a job she has loved, especially when there are notes and words of appreciation from those she has assisted. But she is ready for a change and is looking forward to the challenge of going into real estate sales and the field of property appraisals. On Thursday, her last day with the city, her co-workers and family threw her a party at the East Greenwich Firemen’s Hall. Ward 5 Councilman Ed Ladouceur presented her with a proclamation from the City Council. Donald Morash, chairman of the Zoning Board of Review, praised her work, saying he couldn’t have run meetings without her assistance and Mayor Scott Avedisian thanked her for her extended service to the city and its citizens.
