Teen troupe to stage anti-bullying performance Saturday at library

The teen touring troupe of Rhode Island Youth Theatre will present a free half hour production "Stand Up! (To Bullying)" at 10 a.m. this Saturday at the Warwick Public Library community room.

"Stand Up! (To Bullying)" is a 30-minute, interactive theatre experience that encourages audience members to take action in stopping bullying.

The performance begins with a ten-minute scripted performance written by Warwick student Brendon Cox, age 12. Then, audience members help the characters in the play figure out how to stand up to bullying and make the situation right. Audience members will learn specific strategies for resolving conflicts and dealing with different forms of bullying, including the growing problem of cyber bullying.

This performance is directed by Rebecca Rosenberg of Warwick, and is performed by Rhode Island Youth Theatre’s enthusiastic touring troupe. This show is appropriate for students in grades 4 to 8 and their parents and teachers.
