To the Editor:
As the mother of a deceased Vietnam veteran, I was pleased to read the coverage you provided that Vietnam veterans are not forgotten.
I was moved by the factual account Supreme Judge Francis X Flaherty provided in his service at that time. I relate well that my son experienced by leaving his uniform in the Federal Building Office and going to work in civilian clothes for 10 years of his 25-year service.
Having the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall in Providence was truly a special event. It is a reminder of 209 Vietnam veterans from Rhode Island that are listed there and a visit to the Veterans Cemetery in Exeter is a somber reminder as we note the number of graves marked Vietnam veterans.
To all, thanks for remembering.
