Cranston born actor/clown Adam Gertsacov brought his “Buffoon Anonymous Steps to Insanity” to Perishable Theatre’s Ma & Pa Fest.

Bill Pullman starred as a gentle college teacher who gets caught up in a serial killing involving his students in “Malice.” Robert DiNiro was great in “A Bronx Tale,” which I said could have taken place on Federal Hill.

“Cool Runnings” was a heartwarming movie about the Jamaican bobsled team competing in the 1988 Olympics. Hulk Hogan proved he couldn’t act when he played a nanny in “Mr. Nanny.” Michael J. Fox proved he could act in the romantic comedy “For Love or Money.”

Tom Berenger and Martin Sheen starred in the long historical drama “Gettysburg.”

Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” was the surprise hit of the season.

Tommy Tune starred in the cabaret review “Tommy Tune on Broadway” at the Providence Performing Arts Center. They also brought in a live version of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”

The Vivaldi Orchestra of Moscow opened the University of Rhode Island Great Performances Concert Series.

Deborah Fraoili introduced the Boston-based Opera Un Met at the Hall Library to wrap up the third annual Edgewood Festival of Homes.

Septembers, in Cranston and East Greenwich, had broiled scrod, chicken parmigiana, fajitas, or stir fry for $5.99. The Rocky Point Chowder House had a crab cutlet platter and a 12 oz. stuffed crab for $6.95 each.

Remember the Blue Parrot Café in East Greenwich? They had a single steamed lobster for $5.95, twins for $8.95, and triplets for $11.95.

Alias Stage (now Gamm) premiered its 10th season with “The Kathy and Mo Show,” directed by Cranstonian Loren E. Chadma at the Bell St. Chapel in Providence.

Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary brought his Witness For Peace concert to URI. Also appearing was Rhode Island’s Joyce Katzberg.

Classical guitarist Michael Gendron performed at the Community College of Rhode Island Warwick campus.
