Violinist Midori and pianist Robert McDonald were at Veterans Memorial Auditorium. Tickets were $20-$40.

The Philadelphia Dance Company was at Rhode Island College.

The Odeum had “An Evening With Patsy Cline” starring Sandy Martin.

Disney had a lovely “Muppet Treasure Island” movie. Adam Sandler starred in “Happy Gilmore.” Meryl Streep and Liam Neeson starred in “Before and After.”

One of the best movies of the year, “Dead Man Walking,” with Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon, was my rare 5-star movie of the year.

Sesame Street Live was at the Providence Civic Center. Tickets were $9.50 and $10.50.

Cherrystones (now Top of the Bay) had 2 for 1 lunch and dinners Wednesday through Sunday.

The Warwick Area Career Center Dining Room offered lunch to the public for $3.50 (fish and chips) to $5.50 (poast leg of veal).

Timothy Crowe and William Damkoehler starred in a stylish “Don Quixote” at Trinity.

Cranston’s Park Theatre was showing first run films for $4.99.

Pat Hegnauer and Ed Shea were offering three one-act plays at Perishable Theatre for $5 or $1.66 a play. The space is now owned by AS220, and Ed has moved to Warren, where Pat occasionally directs a play.

Rev. Don Rasmussen did a travel article for us on his travels to Sweden.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Music of the Night” was at the Providence Performing Arts Center, starring the fabulous Colm Wilkinson.

Local playwright Rose Pearson presented her one-act play, “Treading Water,” starring Vita Smith and Sherilyn Brown at Providence’s First Unitarian Church.

Remember East Side Mario’s on Route 2 in Warwick? They offered four “Pasta Feast” dishes for $5.99, which included unlimited soup or salad and garlic bread.
