(Hilarious Irish black comedy)
Hopefully, the Avon will hold over this hilarious Irish comedy about drug dealers, murder and culture clash, set in a small Irish town where the unconventional police sergeant (Brendan Gleeson) reluctantly teams up with an African-American FBI agent (Don Cheadle) to solve a murder and stop a gang of vicious drug dealers. There is murder and mayhem galore, all done with the gleam-in-the-eye Irish humor.
Gleeson is a riot as he battles personal problems and deep-rooted prejudices that he doesn't even realize he has. Cheadle's reactions to the sergeant are priceless. Together, they make for a laugh-filled team.
The Irish tend to use the F word as a necessary adjective in every sentence, so the film carries an R rating.
If the Avon doesn't hold it over past Thursday, try to make it tonight, or put it on your list for future rental.
