Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC), the not-for-profit professional theatre company, which will be opening its fourth season in its state-of-the-art theatre in Warwick later this month, along with the legendary comedy club, Catch A Rising Star, are proud to announce the appearance of the celebrated American singer and stage actor, Michael Amante at Ocean State Theatre for one performance only on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m.

A true crossover talent, Michael is powerful and charismatic. He sings a repertoire that ranges from Broadway, American Standards, Pop, Rock, Gospel and Jazz to the soaring notes of High Opera. Known as “The People’s Tenor,” Michael’s incredible four-octave range and emotionally-charged delivery has captivated audiences worldwide. Singing legend Tony Bennett called Michael “….the next Mario Lanza” and he has won praise from singing icons Luciano Pavarotti and Franco Corelli for his natural tenor range.

Michael’s stage appearances have included leading roles in West Side Story, Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, Li’l Abner, Puccini’s Madame Butterfly and La Bohéme. His live concerts, with some of the nation’s best symphonies, also include music from The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, Rigoletto, I Pagliacci, Italian classics and standards from the great American Songbook.

On the larger scale, Michael has sung to capacity crowds of 80,000 plus at Giants Stadium and has been known as “the Voice of the Mets” singing opening and playoff games at the former Shea Stadium and current Citi-Field for sold-out programs. Michael has also performed nationally for the New York Rangers, the New York Knicks, the US Open Tennis Championships and the Eastern Conference of the Women’s College Basketball League. He has been internationally broadcast on syndicated radio programs including Sirius Radio, National Public Radio and the Voice of America.

Michael’s memorable command performances to countless dignitaries include former US Presidents Gerald Ford, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Pope John Paul II, Luciano Pavarotti and Julia Roberts, to name a few. His release of patriotic songs titled “Amante Salutes America,” financially supports his local chapter of Disabled American Veterans and he continues to support their efforts with live concerts and appearances throughout the continental United States. He continues to perform for sold out audiences including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, New York City’s Town Hall, and numerous Las Vegas and Atlantic City casinos like Caesar’s Palace and The Sands, as well as Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut, and The Hard Rock Café in Florida.
