Thomas F. Smith, 84, of Warwick and Vero Beach, Fla., passed away December 18, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Margaret A. "Peggy" (Laughran) Smith; they were married for 23 years. He was also the husband of the late Margaret D. (Kilduff) Smith.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Robert S. and Ethel V. (Sullivan) Smith. He was a resident of Warwick and Vero Beach for many years. Mr. Smith was employed in the test department of Narragansett Electric Co. for 43 years before retiring as a supervisor in 1991. He was a World War II Coast Guard veteran and enjoyed golfing.

Besides his wife he leaves three sons, Thomas F. Jr., Robert and Jeffrey Smith; three daughters, Terrie Filush, Linda Reed and Kathleen Pulner; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

His funeral will be held Dec. 22 at 9 a.m. from James J. Gallogly & Sons Funeral Home, 671 Broad St., Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St. Paul Church, 1 St. Paul Place, Cranston. Interment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.
