Thomas H. Horton, 86, of Warwick, died April 17, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the husband of Eva J. (White) Horton for 62 years.
Born in Providence, the son of the late Raymond Horton and Martha (Broome) Brule, he lived in Warwick for 54 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of William Shields Post # 43 American Legion. Mr. Horton was a truck driver and was employed by Costello Brothers for 21 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local #251 and its retirees group.
Besides his wife he is survived by five daughters, Ann M. Carrier of Cumberland, Diane L. O’Brien, Debra Lemire, Donna Horton and Denise Grant, all of Warwick; two sons, Thomas E. Horton and Michael D. Horton, both of Warwick; 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held April 20 at 8 a.m. from Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Ave., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Benedict Church, 135 Beach Ave., Warwick. Visiting hours are April 19 from 4-8 p.m. Burial with military honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI or the Alzheimer’s Association.
