On Thursday, May 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thundermist Health Center of West Warwick will host a Community Baby Shower. Pregnant women and their families are welcome to attend; guests do not need to be patients of Thundermist to participate.
The event’s goal is to celebrate mothers-to-be in the community, and give them an opportunity to gain knowledge about the growth, development, and health of their baby. Mothers-to-be will learn how to keep their children safe and find out how to access the tools and services necessary to make sure their babies grow, learn, play, and lead a healthy life. To help accomplish these goals, local community agencies will attend offering resources and giveaways.
In addition to the community celebration and educational resources, there will be safety demonstrations, raffles, and food. Mothers-to-be will receive a free gift bag, while supplies last. The grand prize raffle is a new crib.
Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island is the event sponsor.
