Time for the U.S. Labour Party

To the Editor:

What this country needs is a new political party. A party that represents a very important segment of our society: America’s workers. A party apart from the Republican party, which is basically for the rich and the upper class. And a party distinct from the Democrat party, which at times looks after America’s workers but sometimes not well at all.

We need a party modeled after the British Labour party. A party that looks after the interests of the worker at all times. A party focused improving the working life of millions of people. The Democrat party is the party of the worker but also a party of the special interests, small business owner, and the people that benefit from government programs.

We need a unifying party the will look after America’s workers 24/7, 365 days a year. Not a party that ships jobs overseas because it helps the rich industrialist, or because it lowers the price of new cars for the upper class. We need a party that spends its time looking after you, the worker, not a party that spends its time caring for wacky, non-essential things, as is often the case with the Democrat party.

Of course, this new Labor Party USA will always be in the minority. The rich and powerful will always have the strongest voice in any society, but there are times when things are so tough for the average worker (as is the case now) that this party will be a dream come true for millions. Helping to build a worker’s paradise, not just a rich man’s paradise.
