Titans roll Pats behind second-half burst
Peter Goudis

The Toll Gate boys' soccer team broke open a tie game in the second half on Thursday to down Pilgrim 4-1 in an important Division II-South match-up.

The score was tied at one at halftime thanks to a Pilgrim goal by Phil Tantimonico and a Toll Gate score by Josh Sandin. But after the break, the Titans woke up.

Sandin added two more goals and John Crowley scored as well to provide the winning margin. In the net, Josh Giarrantano made four saves for Toll Gate while Matt McCage had four of his own.

With the win, the Titans remained in fourth place in D-II-South at 6-4-1, with 13 points. Pilgrim fell to 1-5-4 and is in eighth place in the division.
